I'm new to the forums, but am jumping right in. I'm called to coordinate the emergency services for my ward. Therefore I would like to get onto the Northwest Mercury Radio Network for resources and activity. So I'm looking for a simple antenna design to string from a 30 ft. push-up with about sixty feet of yard area to spread it. The pole already has a 40/20m combo Isotron on the top.If you folks have some ideas for a non-existent budget, I can use a soldering gun with the best of 'em!Thanks! ;D

We're using a multiband dipole from HRO but it doesn't provide 80m… 🙁This looks like it could be a reasonable antenna: IW5EDI 80m Antenna He doesn't have a lot of input on the antenna, but maybe it doesn't need it!
If you have a tuner you can't beat a sloping dipole. I made one out of an old extension cord. Works great and is dirt cheap. Even a new extension cord from Walmart isn't that much.
Thanks for the link to the short dipole idea. I wish he had some specifics about the coils. I only have a little tiny tuner that I used in the past for mobile work. Don't think it would do much on 80, but it might be worth a try. Years ago I helped out with local emergency services for the county and one of the guys had a design for a short distance low band antenna made from coax cable that you could literally drop on the ground and had a high angle of radiation for short hops of a hundred miles or so. Somewhere I lost the data on that one. It could be useful in the mountains here in the nrothwest.

From the looks of things people haven't had much activity on the web site.Heres my 2cents on antenna G5RV dipole from hamcity.com $40.00 and a little shipping works well on all HF bands.I have mine set up on 40' pole in an inverted V because of property constaints. JB K7JBB Montana
This is a very simple (cheap) multi-band antenna (with tuner). You should be able to install it as an inverted V in your 60'.I use the 140' ftat-topped. Great antenna.
I run an 80 meter loop skywire antenna, the plans are on the ARRL website, it is sometimes called a Fischer Loop Skywire. It is held up by 3 trees in the yard, It is fed with a 50 ohm coax feedline straight into my autotuner. Tunes up fine on all the ham bands. If you are using an antenna tuner with a balanced output or external balun, then I suggest a 80 meter doublet. You can feed it with 450 ohm window line or even cheep 300 ohm TV twin lead. I have used many doublets over the years and they work great and easy to build. An 80 meter version will be roughly 60' on each leg and can be installed in many configurations. Right now we are living in a rental house on a small city lot and I put up a 80 - 40 meter doublet in a fan, inverted V configuration. I ran the 450 ohm window line right to the ballanced output on my tuner. It works 10 - 160 meters with no problems.Just my .04 cents (extra .02 for inflation) ;DSean
