ParticipantWhat do you want in the logo? Lettering, art, black and white, for print, for clothing, for internet only? I have done some basic design. Let me know more and I'll see what I can do.73 KI4REX Ryan

ModeratorWell, I really like this theme. (If others disagree, they can make one that's better though! 😉The top left is the area I was thinking we could do something. Perhaps something that relates to the hobby, like a radioman, tower with a respectable antenna(s), maybe a quality rig that's opaqued out enough to not be an advertisment (unless Icom or Yaesu or someone else would like to sponsor the site!!!). Nothing too elaborate, but something that conveys the fun of the hobby we enjoy. The top left is comprised of three images:
Top Left
Top Right
Lower Left
Any suggestions would be welcomed. I cannot pay for the graphics. The graphics cannot be 'borrowed' from another site without written permission from the legal copyright holder. If the graphics are an original work and given for use on this site, I would prefer they be licensed under the Creative Commons regardless of the desired lifetime of the copyright assertion. (Creative Commons is the next best thing to popcorn!) But a standard copyright assertion would be welcomed as long as the terms of use for the graphic are defined.I don't want this to be a difficult thing to help with, but if you create a graphic, you should 1) get the credit and 2) have the right of ownership which means if you wanted us to stop using it, we would. But the terms for right to use would also protect this site from someone 'loaning' a graphic and then demanding damages because an unstipulated term was violated. The terms don't have to be technical, just plain english like "You can use this until _______ at no cost." Or whatever. Thanks and welcome to the site!!!73,Robert WB7SGL

ParticipantI will see what I can do during my few free hours and submit it, and your guidelines are understandable.

When I set up this site, I went looking for a theme that was professional and looked good. When I saw this theme, I loved it. It offers a lot as far as customization possibilities. The three images at the top left were simply part of the theme.

ParticipantRob – Love your site – I made several Posts today about my Echolink Conf. (also called *LDSHAMS*) – Hope its OK to promote its use – I think we both have the same ideas – (lets get LDS Hams together!!!) – I like the look of the Native American style logo – but would be concerned about the writing unless you know what it is really saying – it could be seen as “Cultish” – the last thing LDS groups need to be associated with, Just my opinion – but consider it! – JAY – W7KBH – Las Vegas – BTW – found this on the internet under “In virtute sunt multi ascensus. ~ In excellence there are many degrees.—-Cicero” – Relates to perhaps three degrees of glory – But the Budda style figure in the middle may also give others concern about LDS ideas.

ModeratorOK, I found an image of a really, really old QSL card. Let me know what you think! I will modify it as time allows if I decide to keep it.

ParticipantRobert – The antique QSL Logo looks Great – esp with the ARRL EM Book cover – it shows a much more “Ham” style professional/fun Look! – Keep up the good work – JAY – W7KBH

Thanks Jay! I like the image and as a member of ARRL, I support them whole heartedly. They are the consolidated voice of the members and without them we'd be 700,000 voices in the wind with the Feds. But having the ARRL to manage the issues and act as our combined voice is a great thing!-Rob
