For those in the Southern Monterey County, California Area. We have two nets we usually take part in. #1: WedNet takes place Wednesday nights 7 pm, on 146.73, neg. offset, 127 PL tone. This is a training net set up for new hams for practice and old hams to met the new ones. We have been working for years for connectivity to Northern Monterey County, but so far we are still pretty isolated. #2 San Luis Obispo County ARES-North county net . Tuesday nights 7 pm. Same repeater as above. This is for anyone interested in emergency preparedness and is directed by SLO County ARES members. It recently got a good workout during the Chimney Fire and was useful knowing who was located where during the evacuations. Although it is mostly not LDS hams, the community is of like mind about preparedness.
