Nets on Echolink

We're new and growing and you're welcome to take part as much as you want!I don't know of any nets on echolink, but it definitely sounds like a fun thing to get coordinated! There is a conference on Echolink that is called LDSHAMS.  OR you can set up one, a conference, yourself.  We are looking into setting up a “simplex” repeater system using members with capable rigs to  cover geographic areas and have the hams without radio to connect via them and echolink.  We Also have a echolink pc setup at the BCS radio shack.  One of our other members has a 440 repeater and is working to get it up on echolink as well, and it covers a majority of our stake.  There are alot of things that you can do with echolink, you just need to creativity to envision, and the determination to get it to work.73 -Ryan

Hi All,The LDSHAMS Conference on Echolink is node 336037.  It is owned by Jay (W7KBH) in the Las Vegas area.  An effort is being made to keep it running 24/7, but it is sometimes down for maintenance.  Please feel free to use it anytime.If you do not have a nearby Echolink-capable repeater, consider installing Echolink on your computer.  You will need a plug-in microphone (we have found that built-in microphones usually don't work well enough).  Download the free Echolink terminal program from http://www.echolink.org  The install process includes call-sign validation.Currently, the Louisville, Colorado Hams Net meets on the LDSHAMS Echolink conference every Sunday evening and welcomes visitor check-ins.  The Louisville Hams Net is operated by the Boulder Colorado Stake (Boulder and Louisville are about 20 miles northwest of Denver).  The Louisville Hams Net meets every Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. Mountain time.If by chance you are unable to find the us on the LDSHAMS conference, please try our alternate connection KCOPCA-R (node 4222).  The Louisville Hams Net is operated as a simplex radio net, but is also connected to Echolink to facilitate out of area check-ins.  Please feel free to contact me directly at mderr44995@aol.com with any questions.73,Mike W3DIF
