    HI TO ALL: I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH NO MODULATION REGISTERING GOING OUT FROM MY FT897. RADIO HAS WORKED AS IT SHOULD FOR OVER 6 YEARS, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN NO MODULATION. HAVE TRIED ALL MENU SETTINGS AND DID MONITOR TESTING AND JUST NO LUCK. ANY ADVICE ON WHAT IS WRONG? NEXT STEP IS SENDING TO YEASU. THANKS FOR ANY CONSIDERATION.  KD7SXQ

    Did you try a reset?  That may work and will bring it back to the original factory settings.

    KI6DKC:  YES I HAVE DONE THE COMPLETE RESET TWO DIFFERENT TIMES AND STILL NO MODULATION. THANKS FOR THE TRY. KEEP THE IDEAS COMING…WOULD LIKE TO RESOLVE THIS BEFORE HAVING TO SEND THIS IN TO YEASU.  KD7SXQ

    When I had a problem with my 857 I posted it to QRZ.com and got an answer that fixed it.  There are a lot of hams on there with that unit.  You might want to try that.  I was ready to send it in and the simple answer they gave me fixed my problem.
